Dr Minato
On 1 October, President Juichi Yamagiwa appointed Dr Nagahiro Minato, executive vice-president for research, planning, and hospital administration, to the newly created position of Provost.
Dr Minato will now serve as both Provost and Executive Vice-President for Strategy Coordination, Research, Planning, and Hospital Administration through 30 September 2018.

Duties
The 91视频 Provost is responsible for coordinating the formulation and implementation of University-wide and cross-sectoral strategies, such as those related to the institution's long-term vision and organizational reform, at the request of the President, executive vice-presidents, deans, directors, or other senior officials.
Selection process
The Provost is appointed by the President from among the Executive Vice-Presidents.
