On 28 February, President Juichi Yamagiwa re-elected Program-Specific Professor Masao Mitsuyama (microbiology and infectious diseases) of the Graduate School of Advanced Integrated Studies in Human Survivability (GSAIS, or "Shishu-Kan") as Director of the Hakubi Center for Advanced Research. The term is one year, beginning 1 April 2017.
